Remco Evenepoel will ride for Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe from 2026, departing Soudal-QuickStep, with whom he turned professional, after seven seasons and a maiden Vuelta a España title with the squad.

Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe CEO Ralph Denk said, ‘Evenepoel brings not only exceptional athletic talent, but also a remarkable mindset. His determination, professionalism, and relentless drive to succeed are truly inspiring.’

The 25-year-old has a palmarès most can only dream of despite being only 25 years old. He is a World, European and national champion, Liège-Bastogne-Liège winner, Vuelta victor and became a double gold medallist at the Paris Olympics last year in the road race and time-trial.

Evenepoel joins a team with talented stage racers already including Florian Lipowitz and Primož Roglič, who finished 3rd and 8th at the Tour de France respectively.

Pauline Ferrand-Prévot completed her impressive return to the road after a six-year hiatus with a commanding overall victory at the Tour de France Femmes. The Frenchwoman hadn’t raced since abandoning La Vuelta Femenina but altitude training clearly did the trick.

She came to life on the final two mountain days, claiming back-to-back stage victories, dropping all her rivals to solo to the line. Demi Vollering finished second overall, 3min 42sec down, and Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney completed the podium, 4min 09sec back.

Matt Richardson, Charlie Tanfield and Will Bjergfelt are all attempting to break world records on 14th August at the Konya velodrome in Türkiye. Both Tanfield and Bjergfelt will be taking on the Hour Record. Tanfield is aiming to improve on the 56.792km set by Italy’s Filippo Ganna in the men’s elite Hour record while Bjergfelt taking on the C5 Hour record that has stood for over a decade.

Movistar’s Enric Mas withdrew from the Tour de France on Stage 18 and has been diagnosed with thrombophlebitis in his left leg, which causes a blood clot to form and block one or more veins.

To ensure a complete recovery with no intense physical activity, Mas will miss the remainder of the season. There will be no repeat Vuelta a España podium for him after having notched up three second places and one third place in seven years.
