And one of those competing out in Thailand on the world stage will be Bradford’s own Siobhan Haley.
The Tyersal teenager, who attends Platinum Boxing Club in Queensbury, is one of the country’s brightest young stars.
Her selection for Thailand been made in line with Youth Olympic Games weight categories, with Haley in the Under-57kg section.
This is because the Futures Cup represents the only qualification opportunity for the 2026 Youth Olympics.
The selected boxers arrive in strong international form, with each athlete having starred at the recent U17 European Championships in Germany.
And Haley did not just star, she won, collecting gold in her category after not dropping a single round during her four matches, beating Hungary’s Zsofia Kiss via a unanimous points decision in the final.
Collectively, the young boxers going to Thailand won two gold, one silver and two bronze medals between them in Germany.
The Futures Cup tournament will provide a valuable platform for England’s emerging talent to gain further international experience on the world stage.
Haley has long held ambitions to box at the top international level, telling the T&A in 2024: “I would like to be able to say I’m a professional boxer one day.
“But it’s all about what happens in the future.
“All I’m really looking for, for now, is to go to the Olympics and see how it goes from there.”

National coaches Mick Maguire and Louise Vidor will lead the squad in Bangkok, having worked closely with the group since the European Championships in Slovenia in 2023.
Together, the coaching team and selected boxers have achieved eight medals across three European Championships, very much demonstrating the strength and consistency of the England Performance pathway.
Maguire said: “The Futures Cup is a wonderful opportunity for the boxers taking part.
“With attendance at the tournament being a requisite towards eligibility at the 2026 Youth Olympics, it is attracting teams from all over the world and promises to present lots of new challenges for our team.
“We look forward to the competition and to the experiences and tests that it will certainly provide.”
Haley will be joined out in Bangkok by five England team-mates, one of those being Sonny Hollingsworth of Billingham Boxing Academy in County Durham.
He said: “It is a true honour to be selected for a tournament of this size.
“It’s always an immensely proud moment to be given the opportunity to represent my country and wear the England vest with pride.”
Joining Haley and Hollingsworth will be Jaya Kalsi of Cleary’s Boxing in Leamington Spa.
She said: “Competing at the World Futures Cup in Thailand is another step in my journey.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity and proud to represent England.
“I’m fully focused on performing to my best capabilities on the international stage.”
