The Parramatta Eels are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former player Bill Jones, Eel #230.

Bill proudly wore the Blue and Gold jersey during the 1964 and 1966–1969 seasons, making 27 first-grade appearances for the Club. In addition to his time in the top grade, Bill also contributed significantly to Parramatta’s reserves and under 23s, demonstrating his commitment and passion for the game across all levels.

A tough and reliable competitor on the field, Bill was known for his versatility, playing in a number of forward positions including front row and hooker. Off the field, he was remembered as a true gentleman – respected by teammates, coaches, and opponents alike.

Bill embodied the values of hard work and humility, earning the admiration of all who knew him.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Bill’s family, friends, and former teammates during this difficult time.
