All 32 NFL teams have reported to training camp, and there’s no shortage of intrigue and storylines so far.

The Indianapolis Colts have a fascinating quarterback battle taking shape, and we finally have our first significant development. Per head coach Shane Steichen, Anthony Richardson will start the preseason opener at the Ravens on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET, while Daniel Jones will start Week 2’s 1 p.m. game vs. the Packers at home.

Richardson and Jones were listed as joint QB1s on the Colts’ first depth chart Monday. There might be more impetus in the organization to try and turn around Richardson’s career, which has been plagued by injuries and inconsistency, including a shoulder injury he’s battled this summer. Richardson was the fourth overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft and the Colts gambled on his traits rather than his production. Thus far, it hasn’t paid off like they’d hoped.

Indianapolis paid more for Jones than a nominal backup, though, signing him to a one-year deal with a reported $6 million signing bonus and $7.15 million in guaranteed money, with escalators for another few million baked in. So the pressure has clearly been on Richardson.

Time to see whether he or Jones (or both) will answer the bell.

Micah Parsons continues hold-in: Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told reporters Tuesday he’s not confident about Parsons’ status for Week 1, but that he has urgency to get a deal done. That being said, Jones confirmed neither he nor any team personnel has contacted Parsons’ agent to discuss a new contract since his trade request.

Kyren Williams, Rams agree to new contract: Running back Kyren Williams and the Rams agreed to a new deal reportedly for three years and $33 million, with $23 million guaranteed. Williams was never a holdout or hold-in, as he’s been practicing with the Rams all this time, but one of the buzziest contract situations in the NFL is now done. How close are the other ones to being resolved?
