LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kendall Wingler, a seasoned combo guard with over 100 games of college experience, has joined the Bellarmine University women’s basketball team as a graduate transfer.

Wingler played at IU Indy last year but saw her season cut short after seven games due to injury. The 5-foot-9 product of Ekron, Kentucky, suited up for Butler the three seasons before that after playing her freshman year at Eastern Kentucky. In total, she’s appeared in 108 games.

“Kendall brings elite toughness and leadership to our program,” Bellarmine head coach Monique Reid said. “Her basketball IQ is so high it’s like having a coach on the court. We’re thrilled to see her showcase that high-level talent and elevate everyone around her. She has had an excellent summer!”

As a freshman at EKU, Wingler averaged 10.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game while sinking 42 3-pointers and shooting 82.8 percent from the free-throw line. She scored in double figures 13 times, breaking 20 points on four occasions.

Wingler appeared in 77 games over her three seasons at Butler, with highs of 5.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 38 3-pointers made her sophomore year. She earned a Big East Player of the Week award, poured in 23 points against Georgetown her junior year and helped the Bulldogs secure a WNIT bid in 2023-24 as a senior with remaining eligibility.

Wingler logged nearly 23 minutes per game for IU Indy in 2024-25 before a season-ending injury. She was recognized on the IU Indy Fall and Spring Academic Advisor’s Lists.

“I chose Bellarmine because of how close to home it is and how the coaches believe in each player and how much everyone wants to win,” Wingler said.

Wingler starred at Meade County (Ky.) High School, averaging a state-best 30.8 points per game along with 6.5 rebounds per contest as a senior. She was named co-Third Region Player of the Year by the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches and All-State by the Courier Journal and Lexington Herald-Leader. Additionally, Wingler was an All-District and All-Region soccer player for the Greenwave.
