MobLand, the record-breaking crime drama that boasted an impressive cast led by Tom Hardy, will be “even better” for season two, according to actor Emmett J Scanlan. The star, who debuted in the first season of the Guy Ritchie series, gave fans a taster of what’s to come while promoting Netflix‘s How to Get to Heaven from Belfast, which he is currently starring in.
“If you liked season one, penned incredibly by Jez Butterworth, then season two is season one on steroids,” Scanlan told Hello! of what to expect from MobLand’s highly-anticipated return. “It is insane, it’s bananas. I loved season one, I loved reading it and getting lost in that world. I think season two is even better. The scripts are fantastic.”
When MobLand first arrived for audiences in the US, UK, Canada and Australia in March 2025 on Paramount+, a record 2.2 million tuned in for the very first episode – marking the streaming service’s biggest global series launch ever at that time.
After becoming such a hit with audiences and then leaving viewers desperate for more after its season one cliffhanger, it was hardly a surprise that MobLand was confirmed to be returning for a second season.

MobLand boasted an impressive all-star cast, with Hardy joined by Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan as the heads of the Harrigan family. Emmett J Scanlan was part of the rest of the drama’s ensemble cast, which also included Joanne Froggatt (Liar), Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon), Jasmine Jobson (Top Boy), Geoff Bell (King and Conqueror) and Mandeep Dhillon (After Life).

In September 2025, Froggatt – who plays the character of Harry Da Souza’s wife – shared an update for the second season, revealing filming was set to begin the following month. “I’m so looking forward to going back to film season two of MobLand,” she told MovieWeb.
“I loved, loved, loved it,” Froggatt continued. “I mean, it was such a great script and such a great character. Just [an] incredible cast. Yeah, I feel really, really blessed. I love playing Jan. I always wanted to play a gangster’s wife or a gangster, and then she came my way.”
MobLand fans seem in for a treat with season two…
