Jorge Masvidal doesn’t believe Nate Diaz deserved the victory in their rematch, and he’s calling for a trilogy.

Masvidal and Diaz had their first meeting under the UFC banner back in Nov. 2019. Masvidal defeated Diaz via doctor’s stoppage due to a cut over the Stockton native’s right eye. “Gamebred” walked out of New York City with the BMF Championship.

The two met a second time in the boxing ring. The 2024 rematch saw Diaz win a majority decision after 10 rounds. Appearing on MMA Junkie Radio, Masvidal insisted that he should’ve had his hand raised in the rematch. He wants a trilogy bout against his rival.

“I think between men, he knows it’s 2-0 all the way,” Masvidal said. “Ain’t no way that fight in California I lost. The only reason why I lost it is because we see how corrupt California is. Gavin Newsome and all those [expletive]. I straight up won that [expletive] fight. I straight up won that fight. I threw more shots, he never rocked me. I just put my hands up, I let him throw and then, ‘Bam,’ I rocked his world. I thinking this is a fight, but I guess not in California. I got nothing personal against Nate. I have a lot of admiration for what he’s done in his career, but when we’re in there fighting, I feel way better in all aspects of fighting. I would love to smash him, man.”

Masvidal and Diaz haven’t fought since they shared the ring nearly two years ago. Masvidal has been busy with his Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA promotion. Diaz has teased wanting to go to war with a slew of fighters, including some UFC names.
