Bryce Cotton vs Kendric Davis for the NBL26 Most Valuable Player Award will be decided tonight.
The Andrew Gaze MVP Awards night is on now, watch in the player above or below.
Davis spoke to Kelsey Browne about the respect he had for head coach Brian Goorjian during the show.
“He’s like a father figure to me, he believed in me, I don’t have a dad, so he’s like my second dad,” Davis said.
“It feels good, there is positive energy around me now, and I will stay true to myself.”
Asked about his match-up with Bryce Cotton, Davis was coy but competitive (with a smile): “I wanna bust his ass every chance I get … the respect is there. I grew up watching him.
“MVP wasn’t my goal this year; it was being part of a brotherhood, a family, but every time I play him, I’m trying to bust his ass.”
Damon Lowery says Kendric Davis deserves the MVP, while former MVP Derek Rucker has picked Cotton to win.
