No. 1 Keiser women’s tennis took care of their Division II neighbors on Monday afternoon with a 6-0 win over Palm Beach Atlantic. The Seahawks quickly worked through doubles before winning on all five courts that were played out in singles action.
No. 19 Melnikova got her first match on court one this season, defeating Lopez 6-1, 6-0
Grydnieva and P. Apisah finished within seconds of each other to clinch the match at 4-0 for Keiser
Aline Aveiro picked up her first win as a Seahawk on court five with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Ciara Tarpey
Finally, Couto wrapped up the match on court three with a 6-2, 6-3 win
Both teams did not have a player for court six
When asked about today’s result, Head Coach Daniel Finn had this to say: “Business match today. For the majority, the girls did a good job today staying focused and just taking care of their business that was in front of them. Happy to get on and off the court so we can get ready for our next match this week.”
Keiser will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon when they play their first Sun Conference match of the season against St. Thomas. First serve from the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center in West Palm Beach, Fla. is set for 2:00 p.m.
