Jake
Paul did not rest well enough to recover from the first surgery
after his loss against Anthony
Joshua.
Paul (12-2) faced Joshua in one of the biggest mismatches in recent
boxing history on a Netflix event last December. Paul suffered his
second professional loss and his first ever via knockout against
Joshua. “The Problem Child” also underwent surgery for a broken jaw
after the loss.
However, Paul didn’t heal properly ,as he recently had to undergo
another surgery. Paul was attending the Winter Olympics in Italy,
where his partner Jutta Leerdam won gold and silver in speed
skating. Paul suddenly felt the screws and plates from the first
surgery come loose inside his mouth. Paul had to undergo emergency
surgery and was told that he didn’t rest enough to recover from the
first surgery. Paul did not listen to his doctors when they had
advised a couple of months of complete rest after the first
surgery. The YouTuber turned boxer advised his fans not to repeat
the same mistake.
A Few Screws Loose
“Just got out of my emergency jaw surgery,” Paul said on Instagram.
“… Basically, I was at the Olympics and the plates and screws that
they put inside my mouth, all started to come loose. One of the
little screws came out of my mouth, I had to spit it out. They were
super worried about getting it infected so we had to pull them out
right away… So it turns out kids, you don’t listen to your doctors
when they tell you not to do anything for two months, and you do a
bunch of things – the screws and plates will come out of your bone.
Don’t be a dumbass like me.
