IMAGE Racing will make its return to the public event stage just one week after being a rare absence from the Dunlop Super2 Series field.
Having run three ZB Commodores in 2025 in collaboration with the Erebus Academy, Image was missing altogether from last weekend’s Sydney season-opener.
It marks the first Super2 round the Victorian squad has missed since Sandown 2016.
While there’s no official word on if/when Image will return to the Super2 arena, it will have a two-fold presence at the Adelaide Motorsport Festival on February 28-March 1.
Team owner Terry Wyhoon, himself a two-time Bathurst 1000 starter, will drive the SBR FG03 chassis in which Shane van Gisbergen became a Supercars race winner 15 years ago.
Wyhoon’s teenaged son Ryan meanwhile will drive another ex-Stone Brothers Racing Falcon, the Lucky 7-backed Ford that Tim Slade campaigned in 2012.
Image entered that car in the final couple of rounds of Super3 in 2024 before the third-tier category ceased to exist, for Antonio Molluso at Sandown and Tony Auddino at Adelaide.
The car which Wyhoon Sr is steering last raced in 2018.
