New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel is taking a trip down memory lane at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine…

Vrabel, speaking with media at Lucas Oil Stadium on Wednesday, admitted that he was spending the majority of his time in meetings with edge players since arriving on Sunday.

“We’ve met with a bunch of edge players,” Vrabel said, per team-provided video. “There’s depth there. So, we’ll continue to work our way across the board and enjoy these meetings.”

It’s important to note that the schedule likely has a lot to do with that singular focus, though some high-profile prospects have confirmed that they have met with the club: Texas A&M’s Cashius Howell and Missouri’s Zion Young.

The Patriots can meet with pretty much anyone they want at this point, with the final position group (offensive line) scheduled to be made available on Thursday, so it is notable that they continue to do work on prospects who could potentially solve their pass-rush problem throughout Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Will it actually lead to a significant interest once the 2026 NFL Draft comes around in April? It’ll remain to be seen.
