Australian test cricket captain Pat Cummins has sold his family home in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs for about $15 million, almost $6m above the price he and his wife Becky paid five years ago.

The cricket star sold the Victorian manor, dubbed Figtree House, about six months after securing the keys to a nearby $16m two-storey home that required renovations.

Mr and Mrs Cummins’ Bronte abode was purchased for $9.3m in March 2021 from a local couple behind Double Bay’s Indigo Café.

Figtree House boasts a home cinema, mud room, children’s wing, interior work by renowned Sydney designers Arent & Pyke and marble kitchen imported from the United States.

The five-bedroom house is the winner of multiple design awards, including the University of Melbourne’s 2015 Interior Design Excellence Award.

It sits on a 670-square-metre block with a heated pool, large back lawn and ocean views and is situated just a 700m walk away from Bronte Beach near local cafes and eateries.

The sale was done off-market last week, sources told The Australian Financial Review, and was handled by luxury real estate agent Brad Pillinger.

The unidentified buyer was represented by Cohen Handler representatives Simon Cohen and Isabella Luca.

Mr Pillinger refused to comment when contacted by SkyNews.com.au.

Mr and Mrs Cummins will move within Bronte to their new home which was originally built in 1888 on a 732-square-metre block.

This house was previously owned by Waverley councillor Keri Spooner and her late husband Brian O’Neill who purchased the home in 1996 for $990,000.

The cricketing star also owns a three-bedroom 1930s cottage in the Southern Highlands which was purchased for $905,000 in 2017.

His penchant for bowling extends to flipping homes as he sold a three-bedroom Clovelly apartment in 2021 for $3.7m after purchasing the place in 2013 for $1.36m.
