Arsenal fans are not happy after hearing Andrea Berta’s latest transfer plans.

The Italian has done an amazing job since replacing Edu Gaspar as the sporting director at the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta’s focus is on winning the Premier League this year after all the support he has had, but Berta is already looking towards next season.

Reports have claimed that Arsenal are the favourites to sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.

Arsenal fans react angrily after hearing Andrea Berta wants to sign Anthony Gordon

Anthony Gordon is an excellent player on his day, but the majority of Arsenal fans aren’t convinced he is the one who will improve their side.

Some of them have even called for Berta to be sacked if this move goes through.

One Arsenal fan tweeted: “If Arsenal are looking to sign Gordon, they need to sack Berta.”

Another wrote: “Sack Berta, what am I looking at?”

“Sack Andrea Berta and Arteta if this transfer materialises. They’re not serious,” said another.

Another frustrated Gooner posted: “Arteta’s talent ID is so bad. Why do we need Martinelli 2.0 when the version we have is actually better than him?”

“Gordon to Arsenal after signing Noni Madueke would literally put Andrea Berta on Edu’s talent ID level. Wake up Berta! There are better players out there,” tweeted another.

Sum up how you’d feel if Anthony Gordon signed for Arsenal

Gordon is a very good player.

The Newcastle star is an England international, he’s fast, versatile, a good dribbler and has plenty of experience in the Premier League.

However, if Arsenal want to replace Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard, they should be aiming for a serious upgrade.

As good as Gordon is, we just don’t think he’s that much better than either of Arsenal’s left-wingers.

We think Berta should use the £75 million or more that Gordon will cost on someone like Kenan Yildiz instead.
