FED-UP Kilmore Golf Club members are looking for options to prevent corellas from destroying the greens, investigating ways to come up with solutions to stop the course from being affected ahead of big events.

A meeting on Thursday afternoon brought members of the crown land group together to voice their frustrations over previous suggestions which have not solved the problem, including the Kilmore Golf Club, Kilmore Cricket Club and Kilmore Racing Club, joined by Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland and Mitchell Shire councillors Timothy Hanson and Bob Humm.

Ms Cleeland, Cr Hanson and Cr Humm heard the key concerns raised by members throughout the meeting, which centred around corella damage around the greens on the golf course, which had left golfers unable to putt shots on the course.

The councillors and Ms Cleeland got a first-hand look at the destruction caused by the corellas on a number of greens around the course, with the club saying that makeshift solutions had to be applied so that people can continue playing.

It is a scenario which has left the Kilmore Golf Club’s volunteer group unhappy at having to do constant work, having tried solutions such as plastic owls, CDs and speakers playing bird noises to try and scare off the flock.
