ONE Championship has announced two additional World Title fights for ONE Samurai 1, set to take place on Wednesday, April 29, from Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.
British superstar Jonathan Haggerty will defend his ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Championship against Japanese kickboxing ace Yuki Yoza.
In another bout, hometown hero and ONE Flyweight MMA World Champion Yuya Wakamatsu puts his gold on the line against Uzbek sensation Avazbek Kholmirzaev.
Both bouts join the previously announced ONE Interim Flyweight Kickboxing World Title main event between Thai megastar Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon and Japanese kickboxing royalty Takeru “Natural Born Krusher” Segawa, making ONE Samurai 1 the most stacked cards of the year.

“The General” enters his latest title defense as one of ONE Championship’s most decorated strikers. The 29-year-old from the United Kingdom is a former ONE Flyweight and Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion who began his Muay Thai journey at the age of 7.
Haggerty claimed the ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title in 2023 with a second-round knockout of then-divisional MMA champion Fabricio Andrade. He has since won seven of his last eight Muay Thai and kickboxing contests, most recently defending his crown against China’s first K-1 Champion, Wei Rui, in 2025.
Yoza, 28, enters the title fight with a 22-2 career record and a growing list of notable ONE victories. The Japanese kickboxing ace has defeated Elbrus Osmanov, former ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Petchtanong Petchfergus, and ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion Superlek. Known for his crushing leg kicks, Yoza has drawn widespread praise, including from renowned MMA personality Joe Rogan, who called him one of his favorite fighters to watch.
Wakamatsu Puts Flyweight MMA Gold on the Line at Home
Wakamatsu steps into his title defense riding a five-fight winning streak and with enormous momentum behind him. The 31-year-old Japanese champion won the vacant ONE Flyweight MMA World Title in front of his home fans with a knockout of legendary Adriano Moraes last year, then followed it up with a title defense in Tokyo against reigning ONE Strawweight MMA World Champion Joshua Pacio.
Defending his belt on home soil once again adds another layer of significance to Wakamatsu’s appearance at Ariake Arena. The local crowd will be firmly behind the champion as he looks to extend his winning run at ONE Samurai 1.
Standing across from him is 25-year-old Uzbek sensation Avazbek Kholmirzaev, who holds a 9-1 ONE record and is riding a six-fight win streak of his own. The explosive finisher has earned eight stoppage wins in the promotion and enters the title fight as one of the most dangerous young challengers in the flyweight MMA division.
Stacked ONE Samurai 1 Card Takes Shape
ONE Samurai 1 now features three World Title fights, headlined by Rodtang’s rematch with Takeru for the ONE Interim Flyweight Kickboxing World Title.
Haggerty’s bantamweight kickboxing title defense and Wakamatsu’s flyweight MMA title fight round out a card built around championship action in one of combat sports’ most iconic markets.
ONE is expected to announce additional bouts for the stacked card in the coming weeks. With three championship fights already confirmed, ONE Samurai 1 promises to deliver an unforgettable inaugural event for the promotion’s exciting new monthly series.
