Las Vegas, Nev. – Nevada Women’s Golf opened play at the Lady Luck Invitational, Monday, playing 36 holes at Las Vegas Country Club to kick off competition. The Pack posted a two round total of 45 over-par to sit in a tie for 13th overall. 

Freshman Hannah Stouder led the way for the Pack on day one, posting a four over-par 76 in round one, making 14 pars and four bogies. In round two, Stouder once again had a par heavy scorecard, making a quadruple bogey, three bogies and two birdies in the final five holes. Stouder sits in 32nd prior to tomorrow’s final round. 

Gabby Kano and Coco Kolbas were one stroke apart for the opening 36 holes, Kolbas having the better first round out of the two, posting a six over par 78 that included thirteen pars, four bogies and a double bogey. Kano posted a first round of eight over-par 80 that included eight bogies and ten pars. Kano did clean things up in round two, posting a four over-par 76 that was highlighted by a birdie on the fifth hole. Kolbas’ posted a second round of seven over par 79, she heads into the final round in a tie for 50th and Kano sits in 44th place. 

Marina Nonaka matched Kolbas’ two round total of 13 over-par, posting a six over-par 78 in round one that was highlighted by one birdie. Nonaka’s second round included two birdies en route to a seven over-par 79. Nonaka sits tied with Kolbas in a tie for 50th.

Anna Shultse rounded out the starting five for the Pack, posting a 36 hole total of 160 (+16). Shultse managed just one birdie on the day, and will look for a clearer final round card tomorrow. 

The Pack will return for the final round tomorrow, looking to make their way up the leaderboard.
