ALLAN Moffat’s assault on the 1995 Tooheys 1000 at Bathurst came with the same Cenovis-backed EB Falcon that had competed in the previous two Great Races – but with a unique shake down venue that was far from a regular racetrack.

The four-time Bathurst 1000 winner’s familiar black and yellow Ford had its DJR-sourced, fuel-injected engine freshened by Ballarat-based AUSCAR and production car engineer Ted Robinson ahead of that year’s big race.

The late Robinson, who passed in 2020, ran Robinson Racing Developments in the country Victorian city, and had a long association with preparing and running Ford race cars in various categories.

To give it a blast ahead of heading to Mount Panorama, production car expert Ken Douglas (who doubled as the team’s electronics man for the Bathurst assault) shook the colourful Ford down at, of all places, the dragstrip at the Ballarat Airport!

The #9 Ford is back in the spotlight this week as Biante Model Cars is producing a 1:18 scale model of this colourful and memorable Moffat Falcon.

Available here for pre-order from the V8 Sleuth Superstore, the model pays tribute to the car driven in that year’s Tooheys 1000 by Andrew Miedecke and Mark Noske.

This particular entry qualified 18th for the race that year, though dropped out early with electrical issues.

This fully-opening diecast model features a detailed interior complete with roll cage, racing seat, harness, engine bay, and boot-mounted fuel system.

Presented in premium collector’s packaging, each model is accompanied by an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity, affirming its exclusivity.

It’s a must-have for Allan Moffat fans, Ford enthusiasts, and Bathurst collectors alike.
