Congratulations are in order for tennis star Aryna Sabalenka and her boyfriend of almost two years, Georgios Franguli.

After months of hinting for him to pop the question, Sabalenka took to Instagram yesterday to share a video of the Brazilian entrepreneur down on one knee.

Then overnight the world number one tennis player shared a second post containing a series of photos and videos of their engagement, along with the caption, “I can finally call him something else… FIANCÉ”.

Both were also shared to his Instagram account.

The video began with Franguli going down on one knee in front of a surprised Sabalenka, who was casually dressed in a white T-shirt and jeans, and with her hair in a messy plait.

She then covered her face with her hands as Franguli opened a ring box.

Inside, was a dazzling ring featuring an enormous oval diamond.

After popping the question, the two embraced before sharing a kiss.

Franguli appears to have put a lot of thought into the proposal, which took place outdoors, near a swimming pool, which was surrounded by hundreds of floral displays and candles.

Sabalenka later confirmed she was not expecting the proposal, hence the dressed-down look.

He also arranged for someone to record the moment and take the photos, which the couple then shared on Instagram.

The Belarus-born tennis player, 27, has been dating the 36-year-old founder and chief executive of the global health food brand Oakberry since the start of 2024.

The two reportedly first met in January of that year when she became a brand ambassador for Oakberry.

Sabalenka told The Guardian last year, “We signed the contract, then we got to know each other. Somehow, we ended up being together.”

At the time, Sabalenka was still in a relationship with retired Belarusian professional ice hockey player Konstantin Koltsov, who was 17 years her senior.

However, unbeknown to the public, she and Koltsov had parted ways some time in early 2024, with Sabalenka only confirming the news after Koltsov died by apparent suicide.

His death was announced by his former club on March 18, 2024.

Days later, Sabalenka released a statement about the “unthinkable tragedy”.

“While we’re no longer together, my heart is broken,” she wrote, adding, “Please respect my privacy and his family’s privacy during this difficult time”.

One month after Koltsov’s death, Frangulis was pictured in the stands cheering Sabalenka on at the Madrid Open.

The two went Instagram-official in July of that year when Frangulis posted photos of the pair, including one of them kissing.

That same month, Sabalenka referred to Frangulisa as the love of her life in a comment on one of his posts.

By 2025, she was hinting she wanted to take their relationship further.

After a couple got engaged in the stands during her US Open match in August 2025, she said at a press conference afterwards she had “looked at my boyfriend” for his reaction, before adding, “No pressure”.

Then, after defeating Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk in January 2026 to win the Brisbane Open, she gave a shoutout to Frangulisa.

“Thank you to my boyfriend… hopefully soon I can call you something else,” she quipped, as the cameras showed him laughing nervously in the stands.

While she finally got her wish, there will be one person not rushing to congratulate the couple.

The Daily Mail was reporting as recently as 2025 that Frangulisa was still married to his wife of eight years, Beh Armentano.

The outlet reported that when a fan asked Armentano on social media if Sabalenka had ‘disrupted her marriage’, she reportedly replied: “I am married to Georgios but I will ask for a divorce. They’ve been having an affair since California”.
