Australia’s pound-for-pound number one boxer, Jai Opetaia, kicks off the next stage of his career when he takes on Brandon Glanton in Las Vegas on Sunday, March 8 (Mon., March 9).
The bout, which doubles as Opetaia’s U.S. and Zuffa Boxing debut, sees the knockout artist put his Ring Magazine cruiserweight title on the line, while inaugural Zuffa title will be up for grabs as well.
In Glanton, Opetaia has a formidable dance partner – the native of Atlanta, Georgia has never been stopped or knocked down in 24 professional bouts and boasts 18 KO wins on his record.
Opetaia continues to target unification bouts with the division’s other champions, but first needs to get through Glanton.

The bout goes down at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas on Sunday, March 8, meaning fans in Australia can tune in on Monday, March 9.
The main card is due to begin at 1 p.m. AEDT / 12 p.m. AEST, with Opetaia and Glanton expected to step into the ring around 2 p.m. AEDT / 1 p.m. AEST.
For Opetaia, it will be a fairly quick turnaround, having last fought in December on the Gold Coast when he knocked Huseyin Cinkara out in the eighth round of a home soil title defence.
Glanton was last in action in October, when he stopped Marcus Browne in six rounds in Lagos, Nigeria.
