A report on Thursday night (AEDT) revealed US officials had written draft regulations that would restrict AI chip shipments to anywhere in the world without US approval. More details were later confirmed by the Financial Times, that the rules will mean countries whose companies want to buy large amounts of Nvidia and AMD chips would need to commit to invest in America at unspecified levels.
