“While we appreciate the love and the passion that comes with sport we will not tolerate death threats towards our players. Rugby League is a game that we all love and at the end of the day don’t let it ruin your day. Peace and Love,” the post read.

Some Roosters fans were displeased with what they saw in the club’s season opener and the debut of Daly Cherry-Evans in the Tricolours.

While disappointed by the result, coach Trent Robinson isn’t panicking just yet.

He did comment on the lopsided 11-2 penalty count though, believing that was a contributing factor to the loss.

“Things will go against you. I think 11-2. The opposition apply a lot of pressure. It depends on the referee about how they determine those and 11-2 is quite incredible in our game,” Robinson said.

The Roosters will get the chance to right the ship when they resume their epic rivalry against the Rabbitohs at Allianz Stadium next Friday night.
