Reed Mahoney‘s well-publicised exit from the Bulldogs has taken another turn, with reports of an alleged Las Vegas nightclub altercation with former teammates.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the star hooker crossed paths with the Canterbury group after his first game for the Cowboys last weekend.
The report states that Mahoney made remarks towards Marcelo Montoya that fell flat with the Fijian winger himself, as well as other Dogs players.

Mahoney and Canterbury have both opted not to comment on the matter, but the report indicates it has become an “open secret” within the ranks at Belmore.

The 27-year-old left the Dogs at the end of last season after being granted an early release, signing a three-year deal with North Queensland.
Prior to the Vegas season opener, Mahoney closed the door on his time at the Bulldogs in an interview with Wide World Of Sports, despite the olive branch being extended by former coach Cameron Ciraldo to hash out any issues regarding his departure.
The Herald reports Mahoney still had close friends at the club prior to the incident.

It wasn’t the only alleged incident to have taken place between rival players during the NRL’s third annual trip over to Vegas either.
Knights prop Trey Mooney, who scored a try in his side’s upset win over the Cowboys, got into a heated argument with some Dragons players during the week.

Mooney was getting stuck into Clint Gutherson according to the Herald, before the Dragons security intervened to de-escalate the situation.
The NRL were made aware of the incident after it occurred.
The first year of Vegas was filled with controversy stemming from Spencer Leniu’s racist comments towards Ezra Mam that sparked tension between the Roosters and Broncos, while last year’s trip saw two Raiders players in a hotel scuffle.
