UFC veteran Gilbert Burns has defended Charles Oliveira against criticism of his victory over Max Holloway at UFC 326.

Last night, Charles Oliveira shocked many by dominating Max Holloway in the main event of UFC 326. He came in with a great game plan and he was able to stick to it thoroughly, taking him down in every round of the fight. He was even able to get the better of Max on the feet, including in the classic ‘point down’ moment in the final seconds of the contest.

The fight was contested for the BMF title, with Oliveira now being the new champion and holder of the belt. Of course, some wanted to see more striking action, but the Brazilian sensation took away the threat of Holloway’s striking pretty quickly and efficiently.

In a recent tweet, Oliveira’s fellow countryman Gilbert Burns weighed in on some of the criticism that he has been receiving online.
