Police made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in Ipswich Monday night.
The PSPA was declared at 7.22pm after a man who police wished to speak with barricaded himself in a house on Peacock Street at One Mile.
The emergency declaration encompassed Old Toowoomba Rd, Chubb St, Woodford St & General Foch St
“Residents in these streets are urged to remain indoors and the public are advised to avoid the area,” police said.
