This morning, and in the lead up to Mario Day, which takes place on March 10th, Nintendo hosted a special Direct dedicated to showing off the final trailer for its upcoming film, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and it has rounded out its star-studded cast in the process.

Joining the cast in this sequel are Luis Guzman, taking on the role of Wart, the movie’s froggish villain, Issa Rae voices Honey Queen, and, in perhaps the most hype addition of the lot, Donald Glover (known as Childish Gambino in the world of music) is Yoshi.

While this trailer concludes Nintendo’s marketing push in terms of trailers, it’s entirely likely that Nintendo is keeping plenty close to the vest in the lead-up to the film, as rumours online suggest we might even see Wario in the sequel.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie releases in cinemas on April 1, 2026.
