Good morning, Mets fans!
The Mets look to end their woes as they enter a three-game series in Milwaukee against the Brewers. Frankie Montas will pitch Saturday against the Brewers, possibly behind an opener, as he tries to improve on a rough season (6.68 ERA). Cedric Mullins will still face lefties despite sitting Tuesday, while Kodai Senga (8.25 ERA over last three starts) starts Friday’s opener.
Their opponents, the Brewers mentioned above, have the record as MLB’s best team (69-44, +126 run differential), and have gone 20-4 in their last 24 games. Brandon Woodruff has been dominant since returning from injury (2.22 ERA, 0.63 WHIP) and will start on Friday against the Mets.
Now onto the morning briefing!
