Reggie Miller continues to enjoy his post-NBA career love of cycling, but he isn’t doing so quietly. The NBA Hall of Famer just launched a special, “World of Acceptance Rainbow” kit for his Boombaby collection.

This isn’t the first time Miller’s used his platform, and Boombaby team, to speak out in support of a cause. The former Pacer has consistently worked to move cycling forward, and to use cycling to support good causes. In 2020, he release a “Say Their Names” kit to support the then-booming calls for racial justice in the U.S.A. and around the world. Miller also wore Jenny Rissved’s Team31 kit for a while, helping bring more awareness to mental health initiatives. The former baller also joined the USAC Board of Directors to try move these initiatives through the administration of cycling’s national sporting body in the U.S.A.

Like the Say Their Names kit, the new rainbow jersey will support Equal Justice Initiative, this time with a focus on lifting up the LGBTQ community. In fact, all Boombaby kit, named for Miller’s legendary catchphrase, supports EJI’s work.

It’s inspiring to see Miller continue to speak up for marginalised voices. Particularly at a time when those communities are under attack in the U.S.A. and speaking up can potentially come with negative repercussions.

For now, the Boombaby “World of Acceptance Rainbow” kit is only available in a tighter fit for road, gravel or XC. But Miller’s open to opening the design up for a looser fit mountain bike kit if there’s enough interest.
