Coming off their first away win in their return to the NRLW, the One New Zealand Warriors seek to go back-to-back on the road when they face the Bulldogs at Accor Stadium on Saturday.

It’s a match-up between the two teams brought into the competition this year with the Warriors going into the game with two wins and three losses while the Bulldogs are one point ahead with two wins, a draw with the Titans last week and two losses.

Trailing 14-4 at the break in their Magic Round match against the Titans, the Bulldogs scored twice in the second half and kept the Gold Coast side tryless in the second half – as well as two periods of extra time – to clinch an important point.

Led by a barnstorming debut from Ivana Lauitiiti, daughter of club legend Ali Lauitiiti, the Warriors put on a spirited showing to beat the Cowboys 12-6 in the wet in Newcastle.

Winger Payton Takimoana continued her try-scoring run, crossing for the match-winner in the second half, her sixth try in five games.

Team news

Bulldogs: Shannon Muru moves from the backrow to the centres, with Monica Tagoai placed in the head knock protocol. Pauline Suli-Ruka moves from the bench to start at second row. Alexis Tauaneai is back at lock after she was a late withdrawal last week with a hamstring injury. Paea Uilou shifts to the interchange as a result. Experienced pair Holli Wheeler and Tegan Dymock have been named in the reserves as they look to work their way back into the side.

One New Zealand Warriors: No changes to the starting side after last week’s victory over the Cowboys, with Tyra Wetere retaining her place on the wing after an impressive debut (Michaela Brake is again unavailable). Matekino Gray is set to make her return from a head knock via the interchange, with Ashlee Matapo moving to the reserves.
