McDowell: “A massive day for Rory”

“Today is a massive day for Rory, the emotions, it’ll be difficult to focus, if he can manage those emotions,” says Graeme McDowell.

“He’s not here to celebrate, he’s here to compete in the Open Championship. He’s one of the legends of the game.”

“Not only is this one of the toughest tee shots on the course, but he has to deal with this ovation he will have.

“What he means to golf in Ireland, you cannot say enough. We played with him as a young pro, we knew he was special, the last leg of the grand slam was emotional. He’s a legend. I hope he can compete well,” he adds.
