The general classification is pretty much set in stone with one stage to go.

It was a hard penultimate day in Italy, where several brutally steep hills – including the Sassotetto – awaited the riders. Of these, Camerino was the main attraction of the stage, a rather short but incredibly hard climb featuring ramps of 22%, which gradually thinned out the peloton to just a handful of riders by the time the race arrived at the bottom of the last ascent.

There, after many attacks that came from those hoping to taste glory on this sixth stage of the “Race of the Two Seas”, it was blue jersey wearer Isaac del Toro (UAE Team Emirates) who took the victory.

All our riders safely concluded this challenging stage, including Paul Magnier. The French sprinter, victorious in two stages of the Volta ao Algarve last month, will now switch his attention to Sunday’s final leg of the event, where despite the early presence of two climbs, the fast men should get their second opportunity of the week in San Benedetto del Tronto, on the beautiful Adriatic coast.
