With just one day left until Selection Sunday and March Madness just around the corner, it’s crunch time in conference tournaments around the country.
In the SEC, it’s all about Florida and whether the Gators can run it back with another national title. The Gators struggled to start the season and then even fell out of the national rankings completely by early January. But now, this team feels like a completely different story. The Gators ended the season on an 11-game win streak and their first regular-season SEC title since 2014.

Vanderbilt is headed to the SEC tournament championship game after routing defending national champion Florida.
Playing in front of a home crowd, the Commodores controlled much of the game, using their speed to negate the Gators’ size advantage. Vandy’s 25-point lead in the second half was the largest deficit Florida had faced in the past three seasons.
Vandy’s starting backcourt of Tyler Tanner and Duke Miles — who look like they could give plenty of opponents trouble in next week’s NCAA tournament — totaled 35 points and 15 assists. Jalen Washington scored 17 points off the bench for the Commodores.
Florida didn’t shoot well for the second straight game and might now have to answer questions about whether it deserves a No. 1 seed from the NCAA tournament selection committee. UConn (Big East) and Houston (Big 12) could make cases to jump the Gators if they win their respective conference tournaments.

The big question now isn’t whether Florida can come back. It’s whether the Gators can do enough in the final eight minutes to convince the NCAA selection committee that they deserve to hold onto a No. 1 seed for the tourney.

Florida coach Todd Golden, who has been working the refs for much of the afternoon, finally jawed his way into a technical. Nice timing: It came after Devin McGlockton made another 3-pointer — Vandy’s 10th of the game.
The Commodores now lead 76-51 after the technical free throws.

Chandler Bing drove for a ferocious dunk that seemed to jar something loose from the goal. The game is now delayed while they check the basket.

Chandler Bing’s tough and-1 has staked Vanderbilt to a 65-46 lead — its largest of the day — with 11:44 left. Florida has been physical, generating second-chance opportunities. The Gators just haven’t done much with them: They’re shooting just 36.6%.

Florida matched its season-low with only three 3-pointers made in Friday’s quarterfinal victory over Kentucky. The Gators have made just one so far today.
Vanderbilt has made five — and that’s the difference in the game so far.

In a tournament that has been slowed by replay reviews and clock malfunctions, Gators coach Todd Golden asked the officials to take a look at a potential flagrant foul on Vanderbilt. The officials didn’t grant the appeal then spent the next few minutes listening to Golden complain and talking amongst themselves.

Duke Miles hasn’t hit a shot yet but he just got fouled on a 3-point attempt and made all three of his free throws.

No surprise the Gators and Commodores are playing at a fast, back-and-forth pace. Tyler Tanner has seven points in the early going.

Duke Miles scored 30 points in Vandy’s quarterfinal win over Tennessee on Friday. The Vols didn’t have much of answer for either Miles or point guard Tyler Tanner.
Florida’s size, however, could give Vanderbilt trouble.

We still have about a half hour until the first semifinal of the day between Florida and Vanderbilt.
The two teams have only played once this year and it was a high-scoring game that went down to the final seconds. The Gators came out on top in that one, 98-94; five Florida players had 14+ points in the win.

Tae Davis scored to pull Oklahoma to within two points once again. Nijel Pack then fouled Darius Acuff Jr., who made one of two free throws.
That gave Oklahoma a chance for a game-tying 3, but Pack missed his shot from deep behind the arc with five seconds left. Arkansas got the rebound and time ran out on the Sooners.
Acuff scored 37 points, two away from an Arkansas SEC tournament record (39 by Todd Day). He added five rebounds, five assists and three steals to lift the Razorbacks to the SEC tournament semifinals.
