A teenage boy has been charged over a crash that left a 15-year-old boy dead in Melbourne’s south-west on Friday morning.
Victoria Police said a stolen grey Skoda was allegedly pursuing a Toyota sedan in what police said appeared to be an attempted carjacking on Derrimut Road at Hoppers Crossing around midnight.
The Skoda crashed and rolled several times after colliding with other vehicles.
A 15-year-old boy who was thrown from the vehicle died at the scene and a 17-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl suffered non-life threatening injuries.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested yesterday by Critical Incident Response Team detectives.
He has been charged with culpable driving causing death and other driving offences.
The teenager has been remanded and will face a children’s court.

Victoria Police said seven people were believed to have been in the Skoda when it crashed.
It is the alleged the driver of the vehicle deliberately collided with the rear of a Toyota before the crash.
Police said four people fled the scene and investigators are trying to establish their identities.
A 16-year-old female passenger remains in hospital with serious injuries.
Another 16-year-old girl was arrested at the scene and released pending further enquiries, while a 14-year-old boy was arrested after he presented to hospital.
Police found an edged weapon at the scene of the crash and said a quantity of alcohol was found inside the vehicle.
