ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – The Belmont men’s golf team finished in 11th place at The Peoples Championship held this weekend at Sea Palms Resort on St. Simons Island, Georgia.

The Bruins posted a 286 in Saturday’s final round to finish in 11th place at 863.  Xavier won the team title at 838, while host Western Carolina was second at 840.

Junior Grant Clark led BU as he tied for 12th place at 210.  He shot a final round 68 on Saturday, which included five birdies and two bogeys.  He finished eight shots back of the individual champion, Cayse Morgan of Xavier. 

Clark’s 12th place finish was his best showing of his Belmont career.

Junior Chris Harpum tied for 37th place at 216.  He shot a final round 73. 

Other Belmont scores included: freshman Jack Doyle (T-61, 220), junior Jack Darke (T-71, 222), and senior Conner Brown (T-94, 227).

The men’s golf team is back in action on March 23-25 at the Sweetens Cove Intercollegiate match play event in South Pittsburg, Tennessee.
