Kimi Antonelli secured a stunning debut victory of his Formula 1 career by taking the chequered flag in the Chinese Grand Prix.

In doing so, Antonelli becomes the second youngest driver to take the chequered flag, with only Max Verstappen ahead of him in the record books.

The 19-year-old Italian spearheaded a Mercedes one-two, with George Russell finishing runner-up. The British driver leads the drivers’ standings by one point over his younger team-mate.

Lewis Hamilton finished this to collect his first podium for Ferrari at the 26th time of the asking.

Meanwhile, there was disaster for McLaren as neither Lando Norris nor Oscar Piastri started due to electrical issues with their cars. Max Verstappen retired late in the race in his Red Bull.
