Amazon Web Services (AWS) gathered the technology and business communities at AWS Summit in Mexico City on Aug. 6 to present the latest advances inside the industry. The event highlighted cloud computing, Generative AI application, and infrastructure modernization as the central pillars for business transformation in the region.

The AWS platform provides “the foundational components and tools you need to securely build anything you can imagine,” says Raul Frias, Head of Enterprise Solutions Architecture, AWS. This premise framed the day’s discussions, which centered on accelerating migrations, optimizing workloads, reducing operational costs and overcoming technical barriers in cloud adoption.

The AWS Summit 2025 took place in a context of growing tech adoption in the Mexican and Latin American markets. The summit serves as a platform for disseminating technical and strategic knowledge, addressing the need for companies to not only migrate to the cloud or implement Generative AI tools in their processes, but to modernize their operations and develop new competitive capabilities.

The central theme responds directly to the global trend that positions Generative AI as a key differentiator for product innovation, service personalization, and internal process optimization.

Focus on Generative AI and Industry Perspectives

A key component of the event was the AWS AI Center, a dedicated space for exploring how Generative AI is redefining customer experiences and driving growth. Interactive demonstrations showcased the application of this technology in Formula 1 and with Scuderia Ferrari HP to optimize race strategies and analyze performance.

The event also featured guest speakers from key industries, including Rafael Ochoa, Corporate Director of Diagnostic Services, Hospital Angeles Health System, and Carlos López, CEO, BanCoppel and Coppel Group Financial Services. Their presentations offered perspectives on the practical application of AWS technology in the health and financial sectors, respectively, adding a business context to the technical discussions.

The AWS partner and user ecosystem had a significant presence through the summit, with technology partners showcasing their solutions through AWS Startup Town, a space for founder presentations and connections with technical experts, and AWS Village, which hosted demonstrations and discussions on architectural challenges. For the first time at the Mexico City event, Self-Paced Hands-on Labs were available, offering attendees more than 100 labs to develop cloud skills at their own pace.

Following this event, attending organizations are expected to initiate or accelerate modernization and innovation projects, particularly in the field of AI. The information and tools presented position Mexican companies to develop more sophisticated applications with greater flexibility and reliability. AWS has announced it is planning the 2026 event, signaling a continued commitment to the local market.
