SilverStone Technology today announced the RM100, a 1U rackmount server chassis designed for space-constrained server environments. Despite its compact 1U form factor, the RM100 supports up to ATX motherboards, providing system integrators and enterprise users with a flexible and efficient platform for building rackmount systems.

The RM100 is engineered with system configuration flexibility in mind. Its reversible chassis design allows users to choose whether the I/O ports face the front or the rear of the rack, making it easier to adapt to different rack layouts and installation environments. The power supply position can also be adjusted to suit various deployment requirements. In addition, components such as the rail kit, handles, drive bays, and power module are designed to be reversible, offering greater convenience and adaptability during system integration and installation.

Despite its compact size, the RM100 delivers strong hardware compatibility. It supports ATX, microATX, and Mini-ITX motherboards, and is compatible with either a 1U redundant power supply or a Flex ATX power supply, providing flexible power options for a wide range of system configurations.

For storage, the chassis supports one 3.5-inch hard drive and two 2.5-inch SSDs, offering a balanced combination of capacity and performance suitable for many common server workloads.

The RM100 also provides expansion capability and storage upgrade flexibility. It includes a standard PCI or PCIe expansion slot for additional networking or specialized expansion cards. When paired with SilverStone’s CP05 and G11908000-RT accessories, the internal 3.5-inch drive can be upgraded to a hot-swap configuration, improving serviceability and maintenance convenience.

For everyday usability, the front panel is equipped with two USB 3.0 ports for easy access to external devices. With its reversible modular design, compact 1U form factor, and reliable hardware compatibility, the RM100 provides an efficient and flexible solution for a wide range of rackmount and server computing applications.
