IT’S the burning question to which Peter Xiberras does not hesitate, not even for a split second.
“One hundred percent,” he tells V8 Sleuth before this writer could even finish asking if PremiAir Racing is in a better place than 12 months ago.
Just as was the case after the 2025 Melbourne SuperSprint, PremiAir sits 10th in the teams’ championship.
So, why is Xiberras so adamant?
“I do a lot from gut feel and the gut is happy,” he explains.
“It’s saying that we’re okay.”
The organisation has undergone a massive amount of change in that time.
Gone are drivers James Golding and Richie Stanaway, team manager Stephen Robertson, crew chief Andrew Bell and more.
Injected into the group has been a blend of experience and youth: team principal Roland Dane, team manager Pete Vale, and drivers Declan Fraser and Jayden Ojeda.

“The results haven’t really painted the picture that I’m seeing anyway,” Xiberras says.
“I feel like there’s a lot of good positives, there’s definitely potential.
“Yeah, we’re going to have a few rough meetings as we gel and learn and whatever, but I think we’re heading in the right direction.”
Before the next round of the Repco Supercars Championship at Taupō, Xiberras himself will take part in the Bathurst 6 Hour on the Easter long weekend.
