Years after causing the chain of events that led to Anthony Joshua’s upset loss to Andy Ruiz Jr, it appears that Jarrell Miller is back in Eddie Hearn’s good graces, as “Big Baby” will headline an April 25th show at Las Vegas’ Fontainebleau opposite undefeated Lenier Pero.

Miller (27-1-2, 22 KO) quite literally got his wig snatched in a January clash with Kingsley Ibeh, but came out on top via split decision for his first win since euthanizing Lucas Browne in 2023. He’s been a good sport about it, which is probably ideal for his career; there are quite a few worse things that he can be remembered for.

“The most exciting, the most entertaining Heavyweight in the world is back in action bringing the fireworks,” said Miller. “And remember, when you step in the ring with me, there’s always a price to toupee!”

Pero (13-0, 8 KO), a two-time Pan Am champ and 2016 Olympian who beat Guido Vianello but fell to Filip Hrgovic in Rio, has taken it low and slow since a weird finish of Viktor Faust in 2023. His most recent win came via decision over Jordan Thompson, a career cruiserweight whom you may recall from his one-sided loss to Jai Opetaia.

Going by Miller’s and Thompson’s most most recent weigh-ins, that’s an increased opponent weight of nearly 80 pounds. Don’t see that every day.

“I respect Jarrell Miller and what he brings to the ring, but this is a big opportunity for me to keep moving forward,” said Pero. “I’ve worked my entire life for moments like this, and every fight is another step toward my goal of becoming a world champion.
