Here’s a cool way to show your age: Were you one of those kids who raced home after school to catch Ranger Stacey and Ranger Tim on TV? If you answered yes, you’re in for a bit of a shock. Grab your specs and go take a seat before reading on.

The Aussie duo, who starred together on the hit children’s nature show Totally Wild have come together 34 years after the program first aired on Channel 10.

Pictures have surfaced of Ranger Tim Moore celebrating an impressive 42 years of service with Queensland National Parks alongside his TV partner in crime, and the shared moment has caused a massive wave of nostalgia on social media. Oh, and he’s also retiring, if a 34-year-wait reunion didn’t make you twitch.

“After an extraordinary 42-year career in public service, Tim Moore is retiring from the Department, leaving behind a legacy that has shaped not only Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service but the environmental values of generations of Queenslanders,” the tribute post read on Facebook.

“Tim’s impact reached households across Australia through the iconic children’s television program Totally Wild, where he helped spark a lifelong love of nature in a generation of young viewers. Alongside Stacey Thomson – known to many as Ranger Stacey – Tim helped inspire many current and former Rangers to follow careers in conservation.”

Look, we’re not saying they were the original Irwins. What we’re saying is: “what a blast from the past!”

In the pictures accompanying the tribute post, Ranger Stacey is seen celebrating Tim’s milestone, with a wholesome kiss on the cheek.

The post was flooded with congratulatory messages and well wishes for Tim’s upcoming retirement, while some once-young fans couldn’t believe how quickly time flies.

“Wow! Over the years!” one fan commented.

“Ranger Tim came to my school when I was 10 and we had a fundraiser for bilbies. He taught us so much that I remember to this day!” another shared.

And another inspired Totally Wild viewer shared: “I watched Stacey and Tim on TV growing up, and definitely sparked my journey in choosing Environmental studies later in life.”

Ranger Tim and Ranger Stacey were the original hosts of Totally Wild when it premiered on Network Ten in 1992. They were also joined by Trudy Smith and iconic Aussie puppet Agro, voiced by Jamie Dunn.

One fan couldn’t help but feel sad that Dunn passed away earlier this month, before he could enjoy this milestone moment with his TV co-stars.

“I wish Jamie Dunn was still alive now as he would’ve got Agro to give Ranger Tim a good retirement message and entertained everyone also,” they said.
