Mizzou tennis fell 4-1 against Southeastern Conference opponent Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi, on March 21.
The Tigers dropped the doubles point with sophomore Korina Roso and freshman Alex Ackman falling 6-0 on court two, while freshman Lara Quaglia and sophomore Zoe Lazar fell 6-2 on court three. Sophomore Gian Octa and senior Andrea Artimedi were down 5-2 in their match when Ole Miss clinched doubles.
In singles, Ackman earned a point for Missouri, winning her first set 6-1 and sealing her match in the second set, as her opponent retired. Roso was defeated 6-2, 6-2 by her No. 15-ranked singles opponent.
Artimedi’s match was next to finish, as she fell 6-3, 6-2. Quaglia battled on court four, resulting in a tight 6-4, 6-4 loss that clinched the match for the Rebels.
Octa was tied in her match, at a score of 3-6, 6-2, which went unfinished before the third set began. Lazar was down on her match 6-3, 4-2 when her match also went unfinished.
UP NEXT
The Tigers continue on the road for SEC play in Lexington, Kentucky, against Kentucky. The match will take place on Friday, March 27, at 5 p.m.
