With 1 minute, 13 seconds left in Nevada basketball’s second-round NIT game against Liberty, Corey Camper Jr. dished a pass to Elijah Price under the rim for an easy layup.

The bucket put Nevada up 69-61, icing the Wolf Pack’s come-from-behind victory. It also gave Camper his 10th assist, capping a rare triple-double. While Camper had an off shooting night — he was 4-of-14 overall and 0-of-5 from three — he found other ways to contribute heavily to Nevada’s 73-63 win that moved Nevada into the quarterfinals.

The ESPN broadcast credited Camper with Nevada’s first triple-double since 1979, which was off a little. The network missed Kenan Blackshear’s triple-double just four years ago. While that game was against non-Division I opponent William Jessup, it was still an official regular-season contest. Below are the seven triple-doubles in Nevada history since the Wolf Pack joined Division I.

Nevada triple-doubles

Corey Camper Jr. (10 points/13 rebounds/10 assists) — 2026

Kenan Blackshear (12 points/10 rebounds/10 assists) — 2022

Johnny High (15 points/11 rebounds/11 assists) — 1979

Edgar Jones (22/26 rebounds/10 blocks) — 1977

Pete Padgett (15 points/17 rebounds/11 assists) — 1976

Pete Padgett (17 points/30 rebounds/10 assists) — 1973

Doug Hixon (11 points/11 rebounds/10 assists) — 1971

Five of those seven triple-doubles came in the 1970s when record-keeping might not have been quite as accurate. Since then, Nevada has had just two triple-doubles in the last 46 seasons.

Many Wolf Pack players have flirted with a triple-double since then. Stat-stuffer Lindsey Drew nearly had a triple-double twice, posting 12 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists in a 2018 win over San Diego State with an 11/14/8 game against Bradley in 2016. In a 2018 win over Colorado State, Cody Martin had 17 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds. Jalen Harris had 16 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists in a 2019 win at Santa Clara. Armon Johnson had 22 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds against Houston in a 2009 win. And AJ West had 16 points, 10 assists and eight blocks in a 2015 loss to Fresno State.

But only six Wolf Pack players have recorded a triple-double, with Camper the latest to join the list and first to do so in a postseason game.
