Supermarkets have issued a recall for the 1.9 kg Lux Ham with a use-by date of May 6, 2026.

The Barkly Smokehouse Pty Ltd product has been available for sale in independent retailers, including IGA, in NSW and Victoria.

There are fears the ham could be contaminated with listeria monocytogenes.

The disease-causing bacteria can be particularly harmful to pregnant women, unborn babies as well as the elderly and those who are immunocompromised.

“The general population can also become ill from consuming food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes,” the recall warns.

Customers are told not to eat the products and instead, to return it to their place of purchase for a full refund.

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice,” they advise.
