SUMMER SONIC 2026 just got even more epic as the awesome festival just unveiled the lineup for its three-day run. In addition to featuring some of the biggest international artists, the festival also spotlights major regional artists, curating a playlist that transcends borders, language and genre.
Being such a landmark moment in the history of the festival, the 2026 installment will also be an awesome celebration of SUMMER SONIC’s 25th anniversary. Celebrating the prestigious silver jubilee from 14 to 16 August in both Tokyo at ZOZO Marine Stadium and Makuhari Messe, and Osaka at Expo ’70 Commemorative Park, the shimmering lineup certainly ups the ante for this milestone event.
Tokyo lineup
Kicking off the festivities on day one, the fun starts right out the gate, being headlined by none other than The Strokes who will bring their unmistakable indie and alternative rock sensibilities through performances of iconic hits such as ‘The Adults Are Talking’ and ‘Reptilia’, making them the act to watch on that day. Also performing on day one will be Japanese alternative rock trailblazers BUMP OF CHICKEN along with one of K-pop’s most beloved idols, BLACKPINK’s JENNIE.

Day two carries the same high octane energy with a fiery lineup led by legendary musician David Byrne along with breakout pop powerhouse Alex Warren, best known for his hit tracks ‘Ordinary’ and his recent release ‘FEVER DREAM’. Genre-blurring rock superstars Sakanaction (サカナクション) also join the roster along with viral R&B sensation Steve Lacy and iconic 80s rock outfit Suede. Filipino boy band SB19 will also be making their SUMMER SONIC debut at this year’s installment of the festival, marking a major milestone for the group.

Last but not least, day three closes out the festival with a bang as powerhouse Japanese rock band L’Arc-en-Ciel top the bill as Jamiroquai bring all the funky and groovy vibes. Japanese Kawaii metal heavyweights BABYMETAL are set to ignite the stage with K-pop princesses LE SSERAFIM’s amazing charm. Pop punk hitmaker mgk is also set to perform along with acapellla collective Pentatonix and versatile Japanese rock group Suchmos.

Selected artists featured in the Tokyo lineup will also be making an appearance at the Osaka shows happening during the same weekend. Day one of the Osaka run of the festival features L’Arc-en-Ciel and Jamiroquai as headliners as they are joined by BABYMETAL, LE SSERAFIM, mgk and Pentatonix and more.
