30′ Penalty Tigers!
A knock on from Dallin Watene-Zelezniak as he bought the ball out has given the Tigers a chance.
A repeat set has given them an even bigger chance.
A penalty gives them even more time in the Warriors 20!
The Tigers are camped inside the 10 now but the Warriors defence holds firm.

24′ Tigers goal line drop put
The Warriors don’t make much progress despite the good field position.
Tanah Boyd kicks through and earns a goal line drop out – really well-weighted kick.
The Tigers go short, the Warriors come up with it, but a solid hit on Nicoll-Klokstad sees the ball go forward and the Tigers escape.

23′ Big Tigers error!
The Wests Tigers are under enormous pressure here!
Heamasi Makasini
dropped the ball cold coming out of his own 10 metres and the Warriors are going to have a chance to add short-handed points!

21′ Penalty Warriors
But the Tigers have challenged it.
The ball came loose after a tackle as the Warriors looked to move the ball out of their own 20.
Samuela Fainu
then got his hand in there and the ball came out.
Not ruled a loose carry, it is ruled interference and it’s a penalty that Koroisau is still protesting.
15m agoFri 27 Mar 2026 at 7:22am19′ Adam Pompey is sent to the sin bin!
Oh wow, if we thought the crowd were unhappy that Koroisau wasn’t sent to the bin, they are FURIOUS that Pompey was.
Faaletino
Tavana caught the ball in the in goal, then started running back, I guess somewhere towards the 20 to take a quick restart.
Pompey grabbed him and he fell to the ground – and it’s a penalty – plus a sin bin for a professional foul.

18′ Api Koroisau high shot
That’s not great from the Tigers skipper.
Api Koroisau
just got lazy and swung an arm at Wayde Egan, who was already wrapped up by two Tiger tacklers.
Easy metres – the crowd wanted a bit more than just a penalty and there would have been a case for it.
But I don’t even think that he was put on report.

16′ Try Warriors!
(Getty Images)
Pure power from Jacob Laban!
Great pass from Boyd, puts Laban through a big gap on that Tigers left edge once more and he bursts through it to score.
That is where the Warriors are going to attack all night if the visitors can’t get their act together.
It was just a bit too easy – the defence wasn’t really reading what was in front of them and just burst through a big gap.
The kick is good this time.
The lead is 10-0.

14′ Spiral bomb chaos!
Tanah Boyd with the spiral bomb!
That’s moving all over the place in the air and Luke Laulilii drops it for a knock on about 20 metres out.
That’s a bit rough on the Tigers winger though, it looked like Roger
Tuivasa-Sheck
got a hand on it.

10′ Try Warriors!
(Getty Images)
The Warriors target the left edge of the Tigers defence and just put the ball through hands.
Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, playing at right centre, just went around the outside of his marker and slid nicely, just about getting the ball down.
Tanah Boyd misses the kick, but it’s the Warriors who lead 4-0.

9′ Penalty Warriors!
Inside the 10 on the last tackle!
Heamasi Makasini did really well initially, but then had another go at the ball and hooked it out.
The Tigers will have to defend well here, with a whole set of six inside their 10 to defend.

8′ Warriors penalty
An offside each now, as Alex Twal is pinged for being inside the 10.
The Warriors kick up over half way and they’re going to have a really good chance here to make some inroads deep in Tigers territory.

Honestly, yes
Hello Simon, Like most people, I’ve tipped Warriors tonight – are you surprised the Tigers didn’t rest Adam Doueihi as a precaution, even though he’s been cleared by the team’s medical crew?
– Mike
Hi Mike.
I think you make a good point.
This is going to be a long shot for Wests Tigers without Jarome Luai – so would it have been a better option to just play the long game and keep everyone fresh.
But if Doueihi is OK to play, then I imagine he would have wanted to?

4′ Penalty Tigers
The two teams were going set for set there, solid gains with each tackle.
But after a bomb from the Warriors, Adam Gee deemed Leka Halasima to be offside within the 10 and Wests Tigers get a leg up out of their own half of the field with the penalty.

1′ Kick off in Auckland
Adam Gee is the referee, he blows the whistle and Wests Tigers kick off in their orange and black shirts, to the blue-clad Warriors.

Marshall: ‘They’re pretty good runners of the football’
Benji Marshall has just spoken to Fox Sports.
“Last week we had some really good moments of being in the grind of the game,” he says.
“We had a bit of possession, which we need to get again tonight, but it’s what we do with that possession.”
Marshall says that the Warriors are capable of scoring a lot of points, but if they can stop them from getting in their half, that would go a long way to helping them get an upset.
He also said Wests Tigers need to be aware of the threat the Warriors halves pose.
“They’re pretty good runners of the football … we just need to get some pressure on them from the inside.”

‘Everyone has injuries’: Wests Tigers look ahead to a month without Jarome Luai

Wests Tigers coach Benji Marshall has faith that five-eighth Jock Madden will successfully replace “energiser bunny” Jarome Luai, who will miss a month with his knee injury.
Luai hurt his left knee falling awkwardly on a kick chase in the second half against South Sydney last week.
On Monday night, the club confirmed co-captain Luai would miss four weeks with a medial ligament injury, meaning he is likely to sit out of clashes with the Warriors, Parramatta, Newcastle and Brisbane.
Madden last played first grade with Brisbane in July 2024.
“[Madden] has got some really big strengths of his own that we’re looking forward to seeing him put out there,” Marshall said.
“Everyone has injuries, Newcastle are going through a similar thing at the moment.
“All you’ve got to do is put systems in place that no matter who comes in, everyone knows their job and the way you want to play.”
The Tigers had thought they would be without both halves this weekend, with Adam Doueihi slipping over making a tackle in the final minutes, ending up clutching at his right hamstring.
However, Doueihi was later cleared of serious injury by club staff.
Luai joins outside backs Taylan May (shoulder) and Starford To’a (foot) in the injury ward at the Tigers.
But veteran Alex Twal said injury setbacks could definitely give the club a chance to test its mettle.
“It takes a squad of 30 over the course of a season. At different stages throughout the year, you’re going to have injuries and setbacks and whatnot,” he said.
“It’s just the way that the squad copes with that. We’ve built over the pre-season to make sure that whoever steps in, whatever position, they’re going to do the job.”

Warriors eyeing best ever NRL start
– AAP
(Getty Images)
Wests Tigers coach Benji Marshall expects the Warriors to be brimming with confidence as the Kiwi club eyes its best opening month to an NRL season in history.
The ladder-leading Warriors enter tonight’s round-four clash at a sold-out Mount Smart Stadium on the back of three consecutive wins to start 2026.
Halfback Tanah Boyd and middle forward Jackson Ford have been in career-best form for the Warriors, who have scored more points than any side in the competition so far.
Mitch Barnett returned from an anterior cruciate ligament injury to set up a try in last week’s defeat of Newcastle, while talented Luke Metcalf is back from his own ACL lay-off to line up with Boyd in the halves this week.
“The Warriors have been playing some really good footy, obviously three from three to start the season, and probably high on confidence,” said Marshall.
A win over the Tigers would mark only the second time in their 32-year history the Warriors have won four consecutive games to begin a season.
The last time the side achieved the feat in 2018, they went on to break a seven-year finals drought with Roger Tuivasa-Sheck becoming the club’s first and only Dally M Medallist and David Fusitu’a finishing as the league’s top tryscorer.
With a victory on Friday, the Warriors’ current start to the season would pip 2018 on points differential and become their best opening month on record.
New Zealand rugby league legend Marshall said the Tigers would not become distracted.
“For us, it’s not about the Warriors,” he said.
“I will talk to the team about making sure we do the things we need to do and play our style and play our game.”
