With Non-League Day taking place tomorrow and the Mariners without a fixture this weekend, it’s the perfect opportunity for supporters to get their football fix by backing some of the fantastic non-league clubs across North and North East Lincolnshire.
Several local sides are in action on Saturday 28th March, with promotion pushes, local connections and plenty to play for across the football pyramid.
Cleethorpes Town Travel To Bamber Bridge
In the Northern Premier League Premier Division, Cleethorpes Town travel to Bamber Bridge for a 3pm kick-off in what promises to be a tightly contested mid-table clash.
With 8th hosting 9th, both sides will be eager to secure three points as the season enters its final stages.
Grimsby Borough Head To Ossett United
Elsewhere in the Northern Premier League East Division, Grimsby Borough travel to face Ossett United at Ingfield Stadium (3pm).
Borough currently sit 16th, while Ossett occupy 18th, making it an important fixture for both sides.
Mariners supporters may recognise a familiar face in the Borough dugout, with former promotion-winning Town defender Danny East serving as the club’s Assistant Manager.
Gainsborough Trinity Host Play Off Rivals
Promotion-chasing Gainsborough Trinity welcome Warrington Rylands to the Kal Group Stadium in another 3pm kick-off.
With both teams pushing for the play-off places, it promises to be a big afternoon for the Holy Blues as they look to strengthen their position heading into the final weeks of the season.
Mariners loanee Henry Brown is expected to feature, and would no doubt appreciate some Town support in the stands.
Barton Town Chasing Promotion
In the Northern Counties East Football League Premier Division, Barton Town travel to face Eccleshill United at 3pm.
Barton currently sit 4th in the table, firmly inside the play-off places as they continue their push for promotion.
Play Off Hopes For Brigg Town
Also kicking off at 3pm in the Northern Counties East Football League Division One North, Brigg Town travel to South Leeds.
Brigg currently sit 5th in the table, holding a play-off position as the race for promotion intensifies.
Louth Town Host Club Thorne Colliery
In the same division, Louth Town welcome Club Thorne Colliery to the MKM Louth Stadium in Saltfleetby for another 3pm kick-off.
Town Women and Disability Sides At Clee Fields
The football action continues on Sunday at Clee Fields.
Already crowned champions, Grimsby Town Women will play their final home game of the season against Lincoln United Women Development, kicking off at 2pm in the East Midlands Women’s Regional Football League.
Earlier in the day, Grimsby Town Ability Counts are also in action at Clee Fields as they return to Lincolnshire Ability Counts League competition, kicking off at 10am.
Supporting non-league football is a big part of what Non-League Day is all about, and there are plenty of opportunities across the region to enjoy a game this weekend.
Wherever you decide to go, we hope you enjoy the football and continue supporting the wider game across our local community.
