St Kilda forward Lance Collard is staring down the barrel of a lengthy stint on the sidelines after multiple incidents in the VFL on Friday night.
Nine reporter Owen Leonard revealed the 21-year-old will face the AFL integrity unit over an alleged homophobic slur uttered during the game.
Collard will also face MRO scrutiny for a swinging arm to the face of Frankston player Jackson Voss, which sparked an all-in melee.

The Saint was banned for six games in 2024 after pleading guilty to using homophobic slurs during a VFL game.
St Kilda released a statement on Saturday saying they were aware of the incident and cooperating with the AFL.
“St Kilda Football Club is aware of an alleged incident involving one of its players during last night’s VFL match against Frankston,” the statement read.
“The club takes matters of this nature extremely seriously and is working closely with the AFL Integrity Unit as it conducts its investigation into the matter.
“While this process is underway, it would be inappropriate for the club to comment further.”
The VFL has also confirmed it is aware of the incident.
“The VFL is aware of an incident during Friday night’s match between Frankston and St Kilda and is investigating the matter,” a VFL statement provided to Wide World of Sports read.
The 2024 suspension occurred in Collard’s first year on an AFL list and also happened during a VFL match, this time against Williamstown.
He received a six-game ban for what was described as “directing unprompted and highly offensive homophobic slurs” towards two players.
In the aftermath, Collard released a statement apologising for his behaviour.
“I am incredibly remorseful for my comments and any hurt they may have caused,” Collard said in 2024.
“What I did doesn’t represent my values, or the values of the club. I have apologised to the Williamstown players who were impacted by my behaviour, and unreservedly reiterate that apology to anyone else my conduct affected.”
While this latest investigation into an alleged homophobic slur takes place, Collard is likely to receive a multi-week ban for the swinging arm to Voss’ head.
The hit left Voss in pain and took him off his feet. He was assessed by the Frankston team doctor on the field.
While that was happening, teammates poured in to remonstrate with Collard, sparking an all-in scrap between the two teams.

It remains unclear exactly when the homophobic slur was allegedly said.
Voss is the son of former St Kilda player Brett Voss, who played 135 games for the club, and the nephew of Carlton coach Michael Voss.
Collard has played 15 games for the Saints since being selected with pick 28 in the 2023 draft out of West Coast’s academy.
He played 12 of those games in 2025, but is yet to feature at AFL level in 2026. Collard is contracted to St Kilda until the end of 2027.
The AFL has severely punished homophobic slurs in recent years. Adelaide star Izak Rankine copped a four-game ban for one late in the 2025 season, which saw him miss his club’s finals run.
Sydney rookie Riak Andrew, West Coast midfielder Jack Graham, Gold Coast defender Wil Powell and Port Adelaide forward Jeremy Finlayson were all also suspended for homophobic slurs across 2024 and 2025.
