Viewers are too time-poor to be watching SBS shows without knowing if they are repeats or not.

I don’t know about you, but I find I’m too time-poor to be watching something only to realise half way through I’ve seen it before.

I also like to know when a new season of a favourite show is starting so I can put time aside. It’s why I endeavour to highlight such info to TVT readers through Programming posts, Daily Picks and the site’s Calendar (check it out if you haven’t used it before).

So it’s pretty important that such information is communicated via Guide and EPG info.

Yet while EPGs carry info about ABC, Seven, Nine and 10 repeats, it’s a different story with SBS.

As far as I can tell, it isn’t available on Smart TV EPGs, nor third party online guides, nor even the SBS official site.

It is available in print guides and in small text in their supplied PDFs hosted under site Guides here. But it’s disappointing it doesn’t filter through to electronic EPGs.

I decided to raise it with the good folk at SBS.

“SBS’s EPG is integrated into SBS On Demand, where audiences typically don’t require Repeat episode information given the nature of streaming and the breadth of our VOD catalogue,” a spokesperson said.

But then a win…

“We recognise the value of Repeat episode information for viewers on our linear platforms and have scheduled updates to our EPG in FY26 to include this, in addition to Closed Captions and Audio Description information.”

A belated, but good move.
