Loyd Star golf champs honored at Capitol

Sen. Jason Barrett recently led presentation of Senate Resolution 55, commending the Loyd Star High School girls and boys golf teams and Coach Jonathan Breakfield for winning the 2025 Class 2A State Golf Championships.
The rare double championship marks only the third time in Mississippi history that both teams have claimed state titles in the same year. Sen. Barrett, of Brookhaven, and the champions were joined for a team photo after the Senate presentation by House Representatives Becky Currie and Vince Mangold, also of Lincoln County.
