History

OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa Braves delivered a complete performance on both sides of the ball, shutting out Midland University 48-0 on Saturday afternoon at AdventHealth Field. Ottawa’s high-powered offense, led by quarterback Anna Anderson, overwhelmed Midland from the opening drive and never let up.

How It Happened

Ottawa wasted no time setting the tone. After a strong defensive stand, Anna Anderson capped an eight-play, 49-yard drive with a 1-yard touchdown run to give the Braves a 7-0 lead late in the first quarter.

The second quarter turned into a showcase for Ottawa’s offensive creativity. Anderson connected with Jaida Bayron for a short touchdown pass, then orchestrated a highlight lateral play that ended with Marley Spielberg in the end zone. Just like that, Ottawa stretched the lead to 21-0 by halftime.

Coming out of the break, the Braves stayed aggressive. Anderson found Spielberg again for a 10-yard score in the third quarter, pushing the margin to 28-0.

The fourth quarter was all Ottawa. Touchdown passes to Alyssa Linkous (twice) and another explosive scoring play finished by Tatiana Dos Santos blew the game wide open. The Braves closed it out with a 74-yard drive in the final minutes, sealing the 48-0 shutout victory.
